Friday Fun Day

Today the awesome owls and clever kiwis made treats for their end of year surprise after reaching their class goals. 

We made marshmallow and rice bubble squares. Yum!!

Yummy yummy in my tummy!!!

On Friday the Awesome Owls and Clever Kiwis made fruit kebabs. We talked about what we like to eat and making patterns. We had so much fun. Our fruit kebabs were yummy.

Measurement

Today in the awesome owls we learned all about measurement. We used words like shorter and taller and put our class in height order.

Then we had the chance to use team work to build the tallest tower.

Art time

The awesome owls are getting creative with the first stage of our underwater scenes. We had so much fun!!!

Drop Cover Hold

Today Rowandale School took part in the nationwide Shake Out! We were very sensible as we practised our earthquake drill. Drop! Cover! Hold! 

Term topic: music around the world

To start off our term topic, we are getting music lessons from Jellybeanz. Today was our first lesson and we explored beat. We played with drum sticks, drums, tambourines, castanets and triangles. 

Even Ollie, our class owl, gave it a go! 

Enjoying the High Flyers Cafe

The Awesome Owls loved supporting the Hugh Flyers at their cafe this morning. They had the yummiest cakes and amazing hot chocolate. Yum! Thanks High Flyers! 

Mindful Madness

There was so much mindful behaviour in the Owls this week it was hard to choose a mindful award winner. In the end Taase won with her beautiful manners and determination!!! Well done Taase keep it up!!!! 

Bubbles bubbles bubbles

Last week in the Owls it was all about bubbles! We read bubble stories and watched bubble clips. We also got to blow our own bubbles! Here is our awesome bubble writing wall. 

FMS sports

Today we had our last session of Counties Manukau FMS Sports. This term we had fun learning 4 skills: 

- chest pass

- over arm throw

- jumping for heigh

- side gallop
